  75. July 23 – Ted participated in the invitation-only first Cornell Conference on Aging and the Environment. Discussions focused on the potential impacts of climate change on the elderly; environmental volunteerism among older adults; and the environmental impact of various living environments for the elderly.
  76. August 6th – 2009 Florida Public Health Association and Southern Health Association Joint Annual Educational Conference (August 4 – 7) in Palm Beach Gardens, FL to an audience drawn from attendees from 8 southern public health associations. "Chronic Disease and Climate Change: Common Causes, Common Solutions: Why Low Carbon Living Is Good For Your Health,"  agenda.
